After they were married Joan and John lived at 14 Vernon Avenue, Woodford Green, before moving to 18 Monmouth Avenue, South Woodford in about 1965.
John and Joan had two sons:

Both Kevin and David went to Nightingale Infants school, Nightingale Junior school, and then Beal Grammer School for Boys (later Beal High School).

In about 1976 Joan trained as a teacher and worked at Nightingale Junior School and Woodford Wells school. In 1990 Joan and John retired to Swanage
In about 1990 John and Joan retired and moved to Swanage
Joan contracted bowel cancer and died peacefully in Swanage Hospital on Wednesday 30th October 2013
