Mark married Maree Buxton (youngest of 4 children of Warwick and Joan) in Christchurch New Zealand.in 1997. Mark's first job in NZ was for Christchurch city council organising the Kids Olympics with official olympic sponsorship and part time secretary of the local tennis club, before taking on the Chistchurch branch managers job of Luxaflex Blind Co.

Mark and Maree have 4 children:
